Handy resources for writing, design, and communication.

Designing is fun stuff. Here are some useful websites that might just spur new ideas as projects take shape. I have no affiliation with any of these . . . just find them to be resources worthy of a "gold-star" sticker.

Typetester - Test drive a bunch of screen fonts for your web project. From font families to font colors, sizes and alignment, it's like a sandbox of type.

Color Scheme Designer - Check out oodles of color combinations as your design ideas take shape.

Lipsum - When you need a little or a lot of dummy text. It's in Latin, but there will be no test, I promise!

NetRenderer - For Mac devotees, ever wonder what your website looks like on a PC's Explorer browser? Now you can find out. Just enter a URL and voila.

Keyboard Help - A cheat sheet for typing HTML accent marks and other special characters.

Keyboard Help - Same as above, but for ALT codes instead of HTML.

Picnik - Free photo editing on the fly, minus the fancy graphics software on your computer.

JoinMe - Stage an impromptu conference call, text-chat, or screen sharing with a few clicks of the mouse.

JoliPrint - Visually pleasing PDF generator for any web page.

Kaywa - Makes a QR code -- those cryptic barcode squares that people scan with their phones -- of any web address.
